Kelly O'Reilly Profenno started her business, Island Girl Designs, in January, 2006. Kelly makes jewelry, hand painted slates, photo note cards and gift baskets, her jewelry is made from glass beaded jewelry, stone jewelry and seaglass jewelry. Having an interest in many different crafts, Kelly started making jewelry approximately 2 years after being shown how by a good friend. Once she started, she was hooked. She has done a few area craft shows. Kelly also knits scarves and shawls, and has made several other craft items, such as picture frames, painting wooden lighthouses, etc. Growing up on Cliff Island, Kelly spent many hours on the beach, collecting seaglass. After years of collecting seaglass, she has a large collection and wanted to find a craft that she loved that would incorporate seaglass. Since each piece of seaglass is unique, every piece of seaglass jewelry is unique. Kelly's note cards are made with photos she has taken over the years, mostly from Cliff Island. They can be purchased individually, or in any amount requested. Cards are actual photo images adhered to card stock. Kelly's hand painted slates come in almost any design, and can be personalized with names. Slates are wonderful gifts for almost any occasion and can be hung inside or out. Kelly has done many slates for children's rooms as well. If you don't see a particular design, email Kelly and she can custom design one for you!
